Ok so im gonna break down who i think will win each division
so lets start with my favorite
American League East redsox Central Twins West Angels Wild Card Rays
National League East Phillies Central Pirates West Dodgers Wild Card Mets
Thats right i don't think the Yankees are goin to make the playoffs. First their pitching was one of their weak points last year and i really didn't see them getting that much better besides cc sabathia, but i also don't think he is worth what they paid for him. Second Jeter is starting to show aging with his decreased defensive abilities. Third there is just way to much hype on their 300 something million dollar payroll.
I think that the rays and the redsox are going to be battling for the top spot in the division. The both have youth on there teams. The rays seem to draft really good young talent for a good price. The redsox so have one of the best farm systems in the game. Three starting fielders (Pedrioa, Youkilis and Elisbury) and atleast three pitchers i can think of off the top of my head (Paplebon, MAsterson, and Buckholdz). The redsox also have arguably the best pitching staff this year. Beckett, Lester, Daisuke Matuzaka, Tim Wakefield and maybe buckholdz (butcher his name everytime) then with brad penny and john smoltz to be ready soon the redsox have a solid starting rotation. The redsox bullpen does not lack either. Hopfully Hideki Okijam can return to his pitching of 07 and the redsox will have there setup man for paplebon. I think with the aquistion of Saito and the bullpen of delcarmen, masterson, and javier lopez is a solid bullpen that should perhaps be one of the best in the league. I am only worried about shortstop and 3rd. I really don't trust Julio Lugo at short but he is injured so he is not starting and jed lowrie his replacement who will be competing with lugo through the season for the spot is not the best himself. I am only worried about 3rd base because of Mike Lowells him, hopefully he can return to his 07 self and have a spectacular year.

sox are older also. and lets not forget the fantastic amount of money the yankees paid this season, i dont think texiera will do much and clearly cc was terribad the other night but hell come around as well as jabba and the others pitching will be good enough to let that hitting decimate all the pitching the AL has, redsox still have a potent lineup but i agree with the rays not being a 1 hit wonder whilst im confuddled who to pick but here go my picks
AL: west- Angels (duh!) east- Rays (did i just say that?) cent- chisox widlcard- Redkeys (god this is a hard one to pick... but im going with.. Yankees sorry sox =( )
NL: west- padres (kindve a stretch i kno but i have a feeling) east- mets cent- st. louis wildcard- another toughy but im going with dodgers just to be a homer

i guess the are aging but i think that there young talent is better than the yankees. Texiera is not going to make the difference. When Arod hit all those homeruns in 07 and was the mvp, they didn't win the world series. Texiera is not going to be able the carry the team even as good as he is. I think that the redsox will win the east division because of their depth.
Wouldn't you agree that the AL east is the most competitive division this year?

yea but even if texierra doesnt do great look at the rest of that lineup what pitcher in his right mind wants to throw to it. Clearly the east will be far and away the most competitive which is also why no one from the east will winthe world series =D they'll just beat themselves up.
